Lisa Grogan-Green

Lisa Grogan-Green, M.S.C.

Chair

A former print journalist, Lisa played a pivotal role in revitalizing the schoolyard at Bedford Park Public School from 1999 to 2002, a project she led alongside Nick Stefanoff, the school’s principal at the time. Years later, when Nick moved to Valley Park Middle School, Lisa became involved in the creation of the Go Green Cricket and Sports Field, inspired by renowned landscape architect Michael Hough, whose vision had also influenced the Bedford Park project.

Lisa’s passion lies in watching young people grow. She values how youth coaches and tutors step into leadership roles, show initiative, and build strong bonds that inspire those they mentor.

In 2024, Lisa was awarded the Meritorious Service Cross (Civil Division). This honour, one of the highest in the country, was conferred on her by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary May Simon, Governor General of Canada. The Meritorious Service Cross (Civil Division) was created in 1991 by Queen Elizabeth II to recognize great Canadians for an exceptional deed they accomplished over a limited period of time that brings honour to our country.

In her spare time, Lisa enjoys spending time outdoors, often walking her dog, Stella, through Toronto’s ravines. She loves running, golfing, painting and practicing Mysore Yoga.
